Day 1
CITY CENTER and NORTH ISLAND TOUR
We meet at the check-in office at the Çeşme customs port at 08:00 for the Chios Island tour. After passport control, our pleasant journey in the blue Aegean begins at 09:20. Upon arriving at Chios Island port, we will meet at our office after the entry procedures and start exploring Chios Island, the hidden treasure of the Aegean. We will visit APLOTERYA, the market of Chios Island, MECİDİYE Mosque built by Sultan Abdulmecit, and VOUNAKİ SQUARE, the largest and busiest square on Chios Island. Afterward, we will visit CHIOS CASTLE, built during the Byzantine era, which later became the administrative center of the island during both the Genoese and Ottoman periods, along with its Ottoman artifacts and then gather on the bus at the designated time to start our North Island tour. Our first stop is at the seaside TABAKİKA, where the four windmills that symbolize the island are located. These historical windmills were built to pump water to the tanneries that gave the area its name. Recently restored with the contributions of the municipality, it has become a must-see spot for all tourists visiting the island. After our photo break here, we continue our tour. Our next stop is DASKALOPETRA, the region where Homeros, the most famous poet of ancient Chios, produced the Iliad and the Odyssey. A huge rock formed a school by his students in the 6th century BC. This beautiful spot will make you ponder the lifestyle of thousands of years ago and the artistic understanding of that period. We then take a lunch break in LANGADA, the island's cutest fishing village. In the classic Greek taverns (restaurants) by the sea, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional mezes and the classic dishes of Greek cuisine, as well as the freshest seafood. On our way back, we stop for a photo at the AGİOS İSİDOROS church, one of the island's iconic spots on the sea, where it is said that the story of Mastic began with this saint.
Day 2
MID and WEST ISLAND TOUR (OPTIONAL)
Our guests who wish can participate in the optional West Island tour. After breakfast, we take our places on the bus and head to the NEA MONİ monastery, which was built nearly a thousand years ago and was the most important religious center in the Aegean for centuries. This monastery is declared a world cultural heritage by UNESCO. After that, we visit the ANAVATOS village, which has been known as the island's most protected village for centuries, and learn about its sorrowful history, and then we proceed to AVGONİMA village for lunch. On the way back, we visit KAMBOS, the most interesting and special village on the island, known for its impressive mansions and medieval architecture remaining from the Genoese period (14-15 centuries). In this region, we will take a coffee break in the garden of a beautiful mansion (CITRUS) that has served as a museum explaining the history of the island's famous oranges since the Genoese period. Afterward, we move to the hotel and have free time. If you wish, you can join a memorable Greek night, tasting traditional island dishes for dinner while enjoying Greek music and dances accompanied by “Bouzouki.”
Day 3
SOUTH ISLAND TOUR
After breakfast, we take our places on the bus and start our tour towards the southern villages of the island, where MASTIC is produced exclusively. Our first stop is the ARMOLİA village, famous for its handmade ceramics for centuries, where we visit one of its renowned ceramic workshops for a short break. Next, we visit MESTA, one of the best-preserved medieval fortress-villages in Chios Island, which takes us back to the 13th century when it was built. We navigate through its maze-like streets until we reach the central square and take a coffee break. After visiting the Taksiarchis church, we leave the village. Our next stop is PYRGİ, known for the geometric shapes on houses, which are unique worldwide. Our guide will provide detailed information about this technique called Ksista, applied from the Genoese period to today. Then, we go to a seaside tavern for lunch where guests can choose from a menu of various seafood and mezes. We bid you farewell at the Chios Island port, departing with beautiful memories.
