Day 1 - Saturday

On Saturday morning at 08:00, we will complete our check-in procedures at the TURYOL check-in office at the entrance of Çeşme customs port for the Mostra carnival. After passport control, our pleasant journey of 30 minutes by ferry begins amidst the blues of the Aegean. Upon arrival at the port of Chios, after completing entry procedures, we place our luggage in the bus's trunk and start exploring the island of Chios, a hidden treasure of the Aegean. Our first stop on the tour is the famous ARMOLIA village, known for its handmade ceramics for hundreds of years. Here, we will get to know the renowned mastic trees, which gave the island its name, up close and listen to very interesting information about this miracle of nature from our guide. Then we take a short break to visit one of the famous ceramic workshops. Our next stop is MESTA, which has preserved its architectural structure beautifully since the medieval period among many medieval castle-villages on Chios Island. It takes us on a journey back to the 13th century when it was built. We make our way through the labyrinth-like streets to reach the village square and take a break. During this break, guests can taste the island's natural ice creams, Greek coffee frape, or the Fig Rakı (Suma), which is produced only on Chios Island. After visiting the Taxiarchis church, we leave the village. Our next village is PYRGI, which is unique in the world with the geometric shapes on the houses. Our guide provides us with detailed information about the technique called Ksista, which has been practiced since the Genoese era. After seeing the house where Christopher Columbus stayed on Chios (although many say it, almost half of the residents of the village have the surname Kolombos :) we set off for lunch. After enjoying a delicious lunch at a seaside tavern, we head to our hotel to rest and gather energy for the evening entertainment. At 20:30, we meet in the hotel lobby and head to the tavern where we will have dinner with live Greek music, unlimited ouzo, and wine. Guests can continue dancing sirtaki and breaking plates until the early hours of the morning if they wish.

Day 2 - Sunday

After breakfast, we take our places on the bus and head to the village of THYMİANA, known for its houses made of Aegean red stones, to watch the carnival events and parade. Although the exact start time of the MOSTRA carnival is unknown, its roots are based on a true story from the Middle Ages. Throughout the ages, pirates have raided the island due to its wealth and Mastic. One day, while the island's people were indulging in entertainment, the lookouts warned them of approaching pirates. In the excitement of the festivities, the entire village ran to the beach and set a trap for the pirates. After a fierce struggle, they repelled the pirates' attack and hanged those they captured in the village square. Every year, in memory of this victory, they reenact this battle with sword games called 'talimi' and special costumes on the last Sunday of the festival month. Our lunch will be during the free time in this village where the carnival takes place. Afterwards, we head to the port. After passport control, we bid farewell to you with beautiful memories from the island.
