Day 1 — City Center and North Island Tour
We meet at the check-in office at Çeşme Customs Port at 08:00 in the morning for the Chios Island tour. After passport control, we set sail at 09:20 to the blue of the Aegean Sea and reach Chios Island in about 30 minutes with an enjoyable ferry ride.
After completing our entry procedures, we start exploring Chios Island with our guide.
First, we begin our walking tour in Apoloteria, the center of the island, visiting the Mecidiye Mosque, which dates back to the era of Sultan Abdulmejid, Vounaki Square, and Chios Castle. After getting to know the Ottoman artifacts inside the castle, we proceed to our vehicle to start our North Island tour.
Our first stop is the historic four windmills by the sea, Tabakika, one of the symbols of the island. We take a photo break here. Then we head to Daskalopetra, believed to be the place where Homer wrote his works. This rocky area, turned into a school by his students in the 6th century BC, is significant both historically and culturally.
We take our lunch break in a charming fishing village called Langada, where you can taste fresh seafood, mezes, and local delicacies in seaside tavernas.
On the way back, we take a photo break at the Agios Isidoros Church, which is one of the iconic structures of Chios Island, located over the sea. It is said that mastic gum is associated with this saint.
Day 2 — Free Time
After breakfast, you can spend this day as you wish.
You can shop in the town center, enjoy a seat in the beach cafes, swim, or enrich your day with suggested additional activities from your guide.
In the evening, those who wish can participate in a fun Greek night featuring live music and dancing, where they can taste the exquisite flavors of traditional Greek cuisine accompanied by "bouzouki."
Day 3 — South Island Tour
After breakfast, we start our South Island tour. Our first stop is the village of Armolia, famous for its handmade ceramics. We take a brief break at one of the pottery workshops.
Next, we head to Mesta, the best-preserved castle-village from the Middle Ages to the present. We navigate through the labyrinth streets, take a coffee break in the village square, and visit Taksiarchis Church.
Afterwards, we move on to Pyrgi village, known for its houses decorated with geometric patterns. We learn about this special decoration technique called "ksista" from our guide.
We conclude our tour with a lunch break at a seaside tavern. Here, our guests can taste a variety of seafood and mezes.
After that, we proceed to the port and after completing our customs procedures, we board the ferry for our return to Çeşme.
If you're ready, reserve your place for this delightful island journey! 🏛️🌿🌊
